Favourite Photos #5 – Niagara Falls, NY

By day or by night, the Niagara Falls provide one of the most amazing backdrops you’ll find anywhere. Located on the New York/Ontario border of the USA and Canada, Niagara really is a must see. Up close seeing the ferocity of all that water hurtling towards the edge, and then over and down, really gives you a close up look at the power of this still quite underestimated element especially when you consider the numbers – 167 feet high with an average flow rate of 85,000 cubic feet per second!

Roaming Kangaroo’s top tip for visiting would be to visit the falls twice, once during the day and the other at night as there is an evening light show that illuminates the falls in all their glory. You’ll need to cross over into Canada for the view but hey, it’s another stamp in the passport!
For an even closer experience be sure to check out the attractions “Cave of the Winds” and the “Maid of the Mist”, both will be sure to get your heart racing!

Up Close!

The view from the Canada!

Entrance to Cave of the Winds down at the base of the Falls.

Maid of the Mist – which takes you right up to the base of the Falls.

Light Show by night – under a full moon.

More Evening lights.

Fancy a swim?!
